Service Changes Begin January 15, 2023
Lea acerca de los cambios en español.
Beginning Sunday, January 15, we’re making schedule changes
on 16 routes to improve service reliability.
Big Blue Bus remains challenged by a nationwide bus operator
shortage, which has increased the number of late and canceled buses our riders
experience. Although we have taken many steps to hire and train more qualified workers,
including increasing the starting wage for bus operators to $25.90 per hour, we
must temporarily reduce service to match our current staffing levels, and provide
riders with more predictable service.
Most impacted routes will have buses coming less often on
Saturday, while others may run less frequently on weekdays, during early
morning and/or late evening hours. Some service will be reallocated to expand
connections to Metro Rail’s K Line, and help
keep buses on Pico Blvd. and Lincoln Blvd. on time.
We know you depend on us, and we are actively recruiting,
hiring, and training bus operators to keeping you moving safely and reliably. If
you enjoy driving, seek real opportunities for career advancement, and are
passionate about making a difference in the community, we invite you to join
our team! Learn more at bigbluebus.com/driveblue.
We encourage riders to visit bigbluebus.com, or download the Transit
app, and plan a trip on or after Sunday, January 15, to see how the adjustments
may impact your travel. Our team is also
available Monday – Friday, 7:30am – 5pm, to help you get where you’re going.
