Detour: Multiple Routes on July 4

In observance of Independence Day, BBB will operate a normal weekend schedule on Saturday, July 4. 

The following events will impact our service on Independence Day:

  • Santa Monica 4th of July Parade (Routes 1, 2, 8, 9, and 43, between 6:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.)
  • Pacific Palisades 4th of July Parade (Route 9, between 2:30 p.m. - 10:30 p.m.)
  • Westchester 4th of July Parade (Route 3, between 8:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.)
  • Marina Del Rey Fireworks Show (Routes 3 and 18, between 1:30 p.m. - 11:30 p.m.)

Santa Monica (Main Street) 4th of July parade 

Routes 1, 2, 8, 9, and 43 will be on detour in Santa Monica, between 6:00 a.m. and 12:30 p.m., due to the Annual Santa Monica 4th of July Parade.

Route 1

To UCLA

The following stops will be missed: 

  • NB Main St. at Marine St., Hill St., Ocean Park Blvd., Strand St., and Bay St.

Please use the following alternate stops: 

  • NB Main St. at Rose Ave.
  • Route 1 will temporarily serve Route 18 stops along 4th St.
  • NB 4th St. at Pico Blvd.

To Venice 

The following stops will be missed: 

  • WB Pico Blvd. at 4th St.
  • SB Main St. at Bay St., Hollister Ave., Ocean Park Blvd., Hill St., and Marine St.

Please use the following alternate stops: 

  • SB 4th St. at Civic Center Dr.
  • Route 1 will temporarily serve Route 18 stops along 4th St.
  • SB Main St. at Rose Ave.

Route 2 

To UCLA 

The following stops will be missed: 

  • NB Main St. at Olympic Dr. 
  • NB 4th St. at Colorado Ave. 

Please use the following alternate stops: 

  • WB Broadway at 4th St. (temporary stop before the intersection)
  • NB 4th St. at Santa Monica Blvd. 

To Santa Monica 

The following stops will be missed: 

  • SB 4th St. at Santa Monica Blvd., Broadway, Santa Monica Place, and Civic Center Dr. 
  • WB Pico Blvd. at 4th St. 
  • NB Main St. at Pico Blvd. and Olympic Dr.

 Please use the following alternate stop: 

  • SB 4th St. at Wilshire Blvd. 

Route 8

To UCLA

The following stops will be missed: 

  • WB Broadway at 4th St.
  • SB 2nd St. at Broadway
  • SB Main St. at Olympic Dr., Pico Blvd., Bay St., and Hollister Ave.
  • EB Ocean Park Blvd. at Main St.

Please use the following alternate stops: 

  • SB 7th St. at Olympic Blvd.
  • Route 8 will temporarily serve Route 18 stops along 4th St.
  • EB Ocean Park Blvd. at 5th St.

To Santa Monica

The following stops will be missed: 

  • WB Ocean Park Blvd. at Main St.
  • NB Main St. at Strand St., Bay St., Pico Blvd., and Olympic Dr.
  • NB 2nd St. at Broadway
  • EB Santa Monica Blvd. at 3rd St.

Pacific Palisades 4th of July Parade

Route 9 will be on detour in Pacific Palisades, between approximately 2:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m., due to the Annual Pacific Palisades 4th of July Parade.

The following stops will be missed: 

  • NB Chautauqua Blvd. at La Cumbre Dr., Borgos Pl., and Sunset Blvd.
  • WB Sunset Blvd. at Drummond St., Carey St., Swarthmore Ave., Via De La Paz, and Temescal Canyon Rd.

Please use the following alternate stops: 

  • WB Entrada Dr. at Pacific Coast Hwy.
  • WB Sunset Blvd. at El Medio Ave.

To Santa Monica

The following stops will be missed: 

  • EB Sunset Blvd. at Via De La Paz, Swarthmore Ave., Carey St., Drummond St., and Pampas Ricas Blvd.
  • SB Chautauqua Blvd. at Borgos Pl. and La Cumbre Dr.

Please use the following alternate stops: 

  • EB Sunset Blvd. at Temescal Canyon Rd.
  • EB West Channel Rd. at Pacific Coast Hwy.

LAX Coastal City of Westchester 4th of July Parade

Route 3 will be on detour in Westchester, between approximately 8:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m., due to the LAX Coastal City of Westchester 4th of July Parade.

To Santa Monica

The following stops will be missed: 

  • WB Manchester Ave. at Emerson Ave., Georgetown Ave., and Loyola Blvd.

Please use the following alternate stops: 

  • WB Manchester Ave. at Sepulveda Blvd.
  • NB Lincoln Blvd. at Manchester Ave. 

To LAX/Metro Transit Center

The following stops will be missed: 

  • EB Manchester Ave. at Lincoln Blvd., Loyola Blvd., Georgetown Ave., and Emerson Ave.

Please use the following alternate stops: 

  • SB Lincoln Blvd. at Manchester Ave. (temporary stop before the intersection)
  • EB Manchester Ave. at Sepulveda Blvd.

Marina Del Rey 4th Of July Fireworks Show

Routes 3 and 18 will be on detour in Venice and Marina Del Rey, between approximately 1:30 p.m. and 11:30 p.m., due to the Marina Del Rey 4th of July Fireworks Show.

To Santa Monica

The following stops will be missed: 

  • NB Lincoln Blvd. at Jefferson Blvd., Fiji Way, Mindanao Way, Maxella Ave., Washington Blvd., and Venice Blvd.

Please use the following alternate stops: 

  • NB Lincoln Blvd. at Bluff Creek Dr.
  • NB Lincoln at Venice Blvd. (temporary stop after the intersection)

To LAX/Metro Transit Center

The following stops will be missed: 

  • SB Lincoln Blvd. at Venice Blvd., Coeur D'Alene Ave., Washington Blvd., Marina Pointe Dr., Mindanao Way, and Fiji Way

Please use the following alternate stops: 

  • EB Venice Blvd. at Lincoln Blvd. (temporary stop after the intersection)
  • SB Lincoln Blvd at. Jefferson Blvd.

Route 18

To UCLA

The following stops will be missed: 

  • SB Via Marina at Admiralty Way, Panay Way, and Marquesas Way
  • NB Via Dolce at Dell Alley
  • EB Washington Blvd. at Via Marina, Wilson Ave., and Mildred Ave.
  • NB Abbot Kinney Blvd. at Washington Blvd., Boccaccio Ave., and Venice Blvd.

Please use the following alternate stop: 

  • EB California Ave. at Abbot Kinney Blvd.

To Marina Del Rey

The following stops will be missed: 

  • WB California Ave. at Shell Ave. and 6th Ave.
  • SB Abbot Kinney Blvd. at Venice Blvd. and Marr St.
  • WB Washington Blvd. at Abbot Kinney Blvd., Oxford Ave., and Wilson Ave.
  • SB Via Marina at Admiralty Way
