Route 3 & Rapid 3: Detour at Aviation Station 1/26- 4/7

Beginning Friday, January 26 at 9PM until approximately Saturday, April 7, the following Metro Rail Green Line stations will be closed, due to construction on the Crenshaw/LAX Line:

  • Aviation/LAX
  • Mariposa
  • El Segundo
  • Douglas
  • Redondo Beach

Big Blue Bus

Route 3 and Rapid 3 will be on detour during construction (1/26 - 4/7).

PLEASE NOTE
: Due to the detour, real-time arrival predictions provided through NextBus and GTFS for Route 3 and Rapid 3 may not be accurate. Please refer to the scheduled arrival times here instead.

To Downtown Santa Monica  (northbound)

Buses will depart from the Hawthorne/Lennox Station, turn left on Century Blvd., and resume regular route.

The following bus stop will be missed:

  • Aviation/LAX Station Green Line
  • NB Aviation Blvd. at Imperial Hwy (Route 3 only)

Please use the following temporary stop instead:

  • Hawthorne/Lennox Station
  • WB Century Blvd. at Aviation Blvd.

To Aviation/LAX Station Green Line  (southbound)

Buses will travel via regular route to Aviation Blvd. and Imperial Hwy., then detour and turn left on Imperial Hwy., left on Hawthorne Blvd., and end service at Hawthorne/Lennox Station.

The following bus stop will be missed:

  • Aviation/LAX Station Green Line

Please use the following temporary stops instead:

  • EB Imperial Hwy at Aviation Blvd. (after the intersection)
  • Hawthorne/Lennox Station

Metro

Metro will provide free bus shuttles between the Hawthorne/Lennox Station and Redondo Beach Station. The shuttles will operate every six minutes during peak hours, and every 15-20 minutes during non-peak hours.

LAX G-Shuttle

The LAX G-Shuttle will be temporarily relocated to the Hawthorne/Lennox Station for the duration of the closure. All Bus Bays and Park & Rides will remain open.
